The trading industry is a competitive one and it can be hard to stay up-to-date on the latest news in this fast paced, ever changing world. Podcasts are a fantastic way to learn from the best in the business without having to spend all day reading blogs or watching videos.
Being a day-trader means spending several hours sitting at your desk staring at screens. So whenever I can take a break I like to go for a walk, do sports or anything outside. I love trading and everything that can relate to it, so the best way for me to acquire knowledge while doing activities are podcasts and audio-books. I find that listening to a podcast with someone who has already built up their own expertise in the field is one of the best ways to learn about something new and valuable.
In this blog post I’ll list my favourite podcasts for traders in order of appreciation and why I listen to them.

CHAT WITH TRADERS
This is by far the best trading podcast around imo. Aaron Fifield is a great host. He always asks smart and detailed questions. There are more than 200 episodes online and I’ve listened to all of them. They’re not focused on one asset class or trading style or concept, they vary in topics and to be honest there’s at least one nugget in every show. Something interesting that you can take away. Some episodes were so good that I took notes from it. Literally. Save them in my concept journal and re-read them every now and then.

THE ALPHAMIND PODCAST
This podcast is a good one. Most of the conversations are about mindset, psychology, discipline, etc… But there are so many amazing stories. The host Steven Goldstein is an experienced coach. And you can clearly see he knows what he’s talking about. He’s worth the follow on Twitter too. Many of his tweets are good advice.

BETTER SYSTEM TRADER
I’m not a systematic trader, I’m a discretionary one. Still, listening to systematic traders and the way they look for edges in the market and refine their strategies is fascinating. Also Andrew Swanscott hosts plenty of discretionary traders too as well as psychology experts. I really like this show.

DESIRE TO TRADE
Etienne Crete hosts a show mainly based on Forex trading. It’s a longeve show, he has more than 300 episodes online. Not all the episodes are high quality – for me. But still I find value in many of them. He also interviewed many FX prop firm owners, comparing features and characteristics.

TRADING NUT
I began to listen to this show because in one episode Cam Hawkins interviewed what I still consider my mentor: Michael Huddleston (aka ICT). After that I started to listen to other interviews too. I have to admit, some of them were not so good. A few times he interviews 16 yo kids who claim to have become millionaires in 1 year of FX trading, can’t say it’s educational content but whatever. If you’re able to filter, you’ll find some value there too.

Last 2 shows began only a while ago. Are both FX brokers and they’re a bit self promoting. But still some episodes were really interesting. GLOBAL PRIME PODCAST has few shows where they analyse in depth the differences between A book and B book brokers. To be honest I had no idea about the shenanigans behind the curtains and I learned a lot about it. IC YOUR TRADE (from ICMARKETS) it’s super new. At the moment of writing they got less than 10 episodes online. But I do listen to it because it’s my broker and I’m interested in what they are doing, so…
These podcasts have helped me improve my skills and become a better trader overall! I do listen to other podcasts shows too, maybe someday I’ll add them in another blog post. As well as some good audio-books. But that’s it for now. Enjoy.
