This is the beginning of my website/blog. The very start. Day zero.
Why am I doing that? For several reasons I’ll try to explain briefly here below.
1. Get out of my comfort zone.
I’ve never been a good writer and I’m a decent English speaker (it’s my third language, before it comes Italian and Spanish), so this project will eventually help me to improve my writing skills. If you notice any bad grammar mistakes feel free to suggest corrections, LOL.
2. Share ideas and concepts without using social networks.
I don’t hate on social networks but nowadays it’s all short and those tweets/stories/fleets or whatever are not a good tool to explain any concept in depth. Sharing blog posts on a website is still cool. I’ll promise to be concise and keep pieces short. Anything above 5-6 mins of reading is a no go x me personally. Time is valuable.
3. Self improvement.
In order to share anything publicly I will be forced to study the topic/concept in depth and possibly grow my expertise in that field. As the saying goes: “You never really know something until you teach it to someone else.” – I don’t intend to teach anything to anyone, but you get the point.
Also it’s the perfect way to keep track of interesting topics I’ve studied and note them down (like a personal resonance book).
4. To keep myself busy but productive while waiting for AAA setups.
This is gold advice from doctor Brett N. Steenbarger. If you haven’t checked his YT channel I highly recommend it. He said this thing many times: in order to keep a good level of patience and wait for “perfect entries” you’re better looking for something else to do in the meantime.
I’m a day trader, I love to trade but I’m not a scalper. I’ve found out my sweet spot is below 2 digits trades per week. So I spend a lot of hours at screens but I get 1-2 good setups per day. When “all the stars are aligned”. Meanwhile, making good use of the time in between makes me feel productive and gives meaning to my days.
5. I always wanted to have a website.
Since the MySpace era – yeah I’m that old – I wanted to do my own page with custom graphics and my own style. All the other socials have the same page per user. MySpace was different. Anyway this new challenge will require time and effort but learning to build a website (without coding obviously) is still a good skill to acquire.
6. Connect with new people.
Writing a piece, making a video or such activities let people know you better than just posting a screenshot or a tweet. I think networking with new people is amazing, you never know who you’re gonna meet and what kind of relationship can begin. Sometimes business, sometimes friendship. Still exciting. I made some good friends along the way and I hope to make more.
7. Extra source of income.
Last but not least I need to find a way to make some extra money aside from trading. I am still not sure how exactly. But right now I’ve a side job that allows me to pay bills and trade without the stress of depending on it. In the future I’d love to dedicate myself 100% to charts and leave my job to follow this passion.
